Abstract
The first aim of this study was to broaden the general understanding of potential influences of leadership behavior on followers’ self-leadership and individual performance. Self-leadership has long been a vague conceptualization, yet with studies like the present, it gains momentum in organizational research. The second objective of this work included the investigation of distance leadership which has long been overlooked (Antonakis & Atwater, 2002), despite distance leadership being already heavily practiced within international corporations (Eichenberg, 2007).
