Zusammenfassung

In fiktionaler Literatur werden Beziehungsgefüge zwischen wirklichen und möglichen Relationen gestaltet. Je nachdem, welche gesellschaftspolitische Relevanz ihren Inhalten zugesprochen wird, erlangen literarische Werke Geltungsmacht. Sie werden dann in Medien, manchmal sogar in sicherheitspolitischen Kreisen, Gegenstand einer Bezugnahme. In diesem Beitrag wird gezeigt, wie fiktionale Literatur an der Produktion und der Rezeption von Sicherheitsräumen im Luftverkehr beteiligt sind. Darüber hinaus wird die strukturelle Verwandtschaft literarischer mit Praktiken in Sicherheitsräumen thematisiert und am Beispiel von Identitätskonstruktionen, Szenarien und Techniken der Täuschung erörtert, in welcher Weise genuin literarische Techniken in Sicherheitsräumen zum Einsatz kommen. Auf der Grundlage fiktions-, sicherheits- und intertextualitätstheoretischer Annahmen lassen sich diese als Praktiken ‚als ob‘ einerseits näher bestimmen und die Relationen zwischen faktualen und fiktionalen Elementen benennen. Andererseits kann somit ihre topologische Charakteristik und deren raumbildende Dimension identifiziert werden. In Sicherheitsräumen öffnen und verschließen sich Handlungs-, Deutungs- und Seinsmöglichkeiten, die von der Literatur ausgefüllt werden können, die somit entweder an Wirklichkeitswert gewinnt oder aber Deutungsmuster verstärkt.

Abstract

In literary fiction, relationships between real and imagined elements are shaped. Depending on the sociopolitical relevance ascribed to their content, literary works can attract considerable attention in the real world and are then often referred to in the media, and sometimes even in political circles. This article provides information on how literary fiction partakes in the production and the reception of security spaces in aviation. Moreover, structural analogies between literary techniques and practices in security spaces are discussed, exemplified by identity constructions, scenario building, and pretense as deception. On the basis of theories of fiction, securitization and intertextuality, these processes can be identified as ‘as if’ practices, and the relationship between factual and fictitious elements can be identified, and so can their topological character and their space-building effects. In security spaces, possibilities related to action, to interpretation and even to constructing the self are opening up or are subject to closures. Literary fiction can shape these possibilities and either increase their resemblance to the real world or reinforce patterns of interpretation.
