Zusammenfassung
In der professionellen Architekturkritik ebenso wie in Beurteilungen von Architektur durch die breitere Öffentlichkeit wird oft ein ethisch aufgeladenes Vokabular verwendet. Manche Bauwerke werden für ihre Nachhaltigkeit gepriesen, für ihren anregenden und belebenden Charakter, für ihren Beitrag zu einem friedvollen Zusammenleben verschiedener sozialer oder ethnischer Gruppierungen oder dafür, dass sie das autonome und erfüllte Leben ihrer Bewohner oder Benutzer befördern. Andere Bauwerke werden für die Umweltschäden kritisiert, die sie verursachen, für ihren negativen Einfluss auf die Gesundheit und das Wohlergehen von betroffenen Personen, für die moralisch verwerflichen Einstellungen oder Ideologien, die sie zum Ausdruck bringen, oder für die moralisch verachtenswerten Funktionen, denen sie dienen.
