Abstract

Given an economy, which is based on global division of labor, today’s logistics systems – in particular production and supply networks – belong to the most complex technical systems. Tools for their planning and control are available and continuously developed further [254, 290, 291]. In view of the occurrence of minor and major disruptions that reveal the existence of supply chain risk, supply chain complexity is ever-expanding and asks for high-sophisticated planning tools.
