Abstract

Social mobility is commonly understood as intergenerational movement between social positions. The two positions that are compared throughout this work are defined to be: the social position of fathers during the childhood and adolescence of individuals, and the individual positions obtained later in life. Social mobility, hence, denotes the intergenerational process that links social origins and social destinations.
