Intergenerational downward mobility in educational attainment in Germany: Summary of the main results and conclusions

Abstract

In this chapter, I first summarize the main results of this study and work out what can be learned from analysing downward mobility. Then, I describe how the findings are embedded in previous research and to which further research questions they lead. Finally, I point out the potential applicability of the findings as background information for policymaking in education.
