Abstract

This chapter presents the necessary acoustic basics and definitions used in this work. It starts with a short overview on the basics of sound and signal processing in section 2.1, followed by the necessary definitions for the quantification of the transmission through sealing systems in section 2.2. At the end of this chapter, the used commercial simulation tools are briefly introduced in section 2.3.
