The European Dimension of Family Migration Policies
This chapter will position the case of German family migration policy within the wider European context, by considering both the dynamics emanating from the supranational European level as well as domestic political developments in other states. It is not a comparative study, nor does it aspire to make empirically founded conclusions regarding policy convergence, divergence or other dynamics of Europeanisation. Instead, the chapter is meant to give the reader a general idea of the wider European context in which the case study of Germany is positioned.
