Abstract
The paper presents results of multidimensional analysis of 30 narratives by Russian émigré bloggers reflecting their emigration experience, combining content analysis with linguistic one. Analysis of the narratives reveals three narrator types coupled with the duration of time spent in emigration. The most frequently observed the ‘fighter’ type who persists in building his/her new life despite encountered difficulties, while it seems not accidental that there are no stories written by any ‘losers’ – who failed in their endeavours. Our results have demonstrated potential and limits of linguistic analysis of e-narratives for predicting personality traits, and present our first step at developing instruments to be employed in larger-scale research involving various communities of e-narrators.
