Zusammenfassung
Spätestens seit den frühen 2000er Jahren durchdringen computergenerierte Bewegtbilder (computer-generated imagery, CGI) weite Teile audiovisueller Medienproduktion. In der Unterhaltungsindustrie wird 3D-Animationssoftware dabei vor allem in drei Bereichen eingesetzt: im computeranimierten Film, im 3D-Computerspiel und im Bereich der Visual Effects (vgl. Power 2009: 111).
