Abstract
In the last few years a seemingly new term—precariat has appeared as a revelation in the Polish press. What is surprising to a number of journalists writing about it is the fact that some of the representatives of this seemingly new social class do accept the new status of remaining labour-insecure for life. What they find challenging in the situation is, perhaps paradoxically, the freedom of the potential mobility and change, the phenomena which do not attach them to singular institutions and places.
There is a need for a new politics of paradise that is mildly utopian and proudly so. (Guy Standing, The Precariat: The New Dangerous Class)
