Abstract

The Multidimensional Mood Questionnaire (MDMQ; Steyer et al., 1997) was used to assess mood. As the questionnaire consists of 24 items assessing three bipolar dimensions, it is too long for an internet administration. Internet users are not willing to expend a lot of time and effort to fill out questionnaires and tend to display uniform response patterns when completing long matrixlike questionnaires (Gräf, 2002). Thus, online instruments have to be short and entertaining (Gräf, 2002).
