Emergenz und Transdisziplinarität

Zusammenfassung

Emergenz und Transdisziplinarität sind Begriffe der neueren Wissenschaftstheorie. Emergenz bezieht sich auf Systemzustände, Transdisziplinarität auf die methodische Ebene von Forschungsprinzipien. Während sich der Begriff des Holismus darauf bezieht, daß sich der Zustand eines Gesamtsystems aus den Zuständen seiner Teilsysteme und ihrer Wechselwirkungen ergibt, betont der (starke) Emergentismus eine Nichtableitbarkeit der Systemeigenschaften aus den Eigenschaften der Systemteile. Das gilt sowohl für die Phänomenebene als auch für die Methoden- und Theorieebene, auf der es um das Verhältnis von Disziplinarität und Transdisziplinarität im Erkenntnisprozeß geht.

Emergence and transdisciplinarity are concepts of modern philosophy of science. Emergence refers to system states, transdisciplinarity to the methodological level of research principles. While the notion of holism draws on the fact that the state of the entire system results from the states of its subsystems and their interactions, a (strong) emergentism emphasizes the non-derivability of the system properties from the properties of the system parts. This applies both to the level of the phenomena as well as to the methodological and theoretical level, at which the relationship between disciplinarity and transdisciplinarity is situated.
