Abstract
Anleihen sind für Industrieunternehmen eine zunehmend wichtige Quelle der Unternehmensfinanzierung. Insbesondere in den letzten Jahren ist dieser Trend verstärkt beobachtbar. Die mit Anleihen verbundenen Finanzierungskosten hängen neben dem allgemeinen Zinsniveau vor allem auch von der Bonität der Unternehmung ab. Ein relativ neuer Ansatz zur Kreditrisikomessung sind so genannte Asset Swap (ASW) Spreads, die - im Gegensatz zu CDS - aus Anleihepreisen direkt ermittelt werden und damit frei von Effekten am Derivate Markt sind.
Für Industrieunternehmen ist es sehr wichtig abschätzen zu können, welche Faktoren ihr Kreditrisiko beeinflussen, denn dieses hat dann unmittelbare Auswirkungen auf die Finanzierungskosten. Diese Studie analysiert unter Verwendung von ASW Spreads und Markov-Switching-Modellen, welche Risikofaktoren das Kreditrisiko großer europäischer Unternehmen determinieren und welche Dynamik in den Determinanten enthalten ist. Dabei zeigt sich, dass insbesondere in konjunkturell turbulenten Zeiten eine dynamische Modellierung - im Vergleich zu traditionellen Methoden - genauere Ergebnisse liefert.
