Zusammenfassung
Service Transition“ (Oliva/Kallenberg 2003) bezeichnet ganz allgemein den Übergang eines Unternehmens vom reinen Produkthersteller zum Dienstleistungs- und Lösungsanbieter. Hierbei wird häufig ein Produkt-Service-Kontinuum (Brax 2005) zugrunde gelegt, auf dem sich der Anbieter bewegt. Es steht der Prozess des Übergangs bzw. der Veränderung im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung (Ostrom et al. 2010). Die Service Transition wird in der Literatur synonym als „Servitization” (Vandermerwe/Rada 1988) oder „Service Infusion“ (Kowalkowski et al. 2012) bezeichnet. Sie kann definiert werden als „the increased offering of fuller market packages or bundles of customer focused combinations of goods, services, support, self-service and knowledge in order to add value to core product offerings” (Vandermewe/Rada 1988, S. 316).
