Abstract
Whether in case of independent new firms or corporate entrepreneurship, sociostructural conditions have an effect on the emergence of entrepreneurial activity. This correlation can be cross-disciplinarily found in economic and industrial sociology as well as entrepreneurship literature. That context matters for KIE just as well can be found, for instance, at Groen (2005) or Delmar and Wennberg (2010: 152): “[I]nitial conditions at birth both in the surrounding context and specifically at the firm level have a path-dependent effect on firm evolution.”
