Zusammenfassung
Dieser Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, welche Rolle der Begriff der Arbeit im Prozess der Kommunikation in und vermittels neuer Medien im Rahmen der kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Forschung spielt. Während die Konsequenzen des Aufk ommens der neuen digitalen Medien für die Berufsbilder der professionellen Kommunikation, allen voran für den Journalismus, seit geraumer Zeit untersucht und diskutiert werden, soll es hier vor allem um nicht-professionelle Kommunikation gehen. Was hier interessiert, ist die Frage nach dem Status der nicht-professionellen Medienkommunikation, also jene alltägliche Laienkommunikation und jenes Nutzungsverhalten, die durch das Hinzutreten neuer, dezentraler Kommunikationstechnologien und Medienangebote des sogenannten Web 2.0 entstanden sind.
