Zusammenfassung

Doppelschichtkondensatoren speichern Energie durch elektrochemische Vorgänge an der Phasengrenze zwischen einem Elektronenleiter (Elektrode) und einem flüssigen Ionenleiter (Elektrolyt).

Die Geschichte des Kondensators beginnt im Zeitalter des Barock eher spielerisch und endet bei visionären Hybridsystemen aus Kondensatoren und Batterien. Das Kapitel beleuchtet Eigenschaften, Materialien, Technologien, Herstellung und Anwendungen von Superkondensatoren nach dem Stand der Technik und gibt Hinweise auf die aktuelle Forschung.
