Zur Innovation in der radikalisierten Moderne

Zusammenfassung

Innovation als ‚kreative Zerstörung, die Positives hervorbringt‘ (Schumpeter 2003) wird heute zu einem gesellschaftlichen Imperativ, der weit über die Wirtschaft hinaus Innovationsgesellschaften zunehmend charakterisiert (Hutter et al. in diesem Band). Forciert wird diese Entwicklung durch reflexive Innovationen, die Akteure unter Rückgriff auf moderne Institutionen, Regulationen und das Können von Akteuren in Interaktionen konstituieren. Sowohl welche Innovationen hergestellt, fortgeschrieben und transformiert werden, als auch wie das geschieht, ist so durch spezielle, symbolische wie materielle Bedingungen mit geformt, die ihrerseits durch Innovationen immer wieder erneut mit produziert und reproduziert werden. Ich stelle in diesem Aufsatz Grundzüge einer praxistheoretischen Perspektive auf reflexive Innovation als Charakteristikum radikal-moderner Gesellschaften vor (vgl. Giddens 1990a), die durch die Strukturationstheorie (Giddens 1984) informiert ist und dessen Konzepte ich an anderer Stelle systematisch ausgearbeitet habe (Windeler 2001, 2014). Ich umreiße in diesem Aufsatz eine gegenüber der etablierten Innovationsforschung alternative Sicht auf Innovation, die an Joseph Schumpeter ansetzt, dann aber Innovationen in ihrem über soziale Praktiken vermittelten Verhältnis zur Gesellschaft thematisiert.
