Agenda-Setting-Effekte im Gesundheitsbereich

Zusammenfassung

Der Agenda-Setting-Ansatz, wonach sich Prioritäten in der Medienberichterstattung auf die Publikumswahrnehmungen übertragen, gilt als eines der fruchtbarsten Konzepte der empirischen Medienwirkungsforschung. Inzwischen durch zahlreiche Studien untermauert und mehrfach ausdifferenziert, wird der Begriff in der Gesundheitskommunikation gleichwohl als Metapher in verschiedenen Kontexten verwendet, die dieser Beitrag zunächst erläutert. Im Anschluss werden das kommunikationswissenschaftliche Verständnis von Agenda-Setting anhand einer verbreiteten, dreistufigen Ebenengliederung beschrieben und die jeweiligen Prozesse anhand eines Fallbeispiels aus dem Gesundheitskontext verdeutlicht.
