Philosophische Überlegungen zur gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag möchte ich eine Einführung in die Theorie der gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität skizzieren. Ich betone, dass das Konzept Lebensqualität ein sehr allgemeines Konstrukt ist, das für Entscheidungen im Gesundheitswesen weiterer Spezifizierung bedarf. Ich stelle einige Interpretationen des Konstrukts vor, werde mich aber auf die subjektivistische Interpretation konzentrieren, in der Lebensqualität die Zufriedenheit mit dem Leben bedeutet. Dazu stelle ich Interpretationen des Gesundheitsbegriffs vor und argumentiere für einen holistischen Begriff der Gesundheit. Ich vergleiche die vorgestellten Konzepte und weise die Unterschiede zwischen ihnen aus. Abschließend betone ich die Wichtigkeit dieses Konzeptes der Lebensqualität in klinischen Entscheidungen, denn würde man Lebensqualität sehr eng und krankheitsbezogen auslegen, könnte man die Person als Ganze und ihre Probleme im Leben aus dem Blick verlieren.
