Zusammenfassung

Das junge Konzept der „grünen Infrastruktur“ erlebt derzeit eine starke Konjunktur. Der Beitrag hat das Ziel, Herkunft und Bedeutungshorizonte des Begriffs zu klären. Dies geschieht mit Bezug zur Entwicklung städtischen Grüns. Anschließend werden Elemente einer theoretischen Grundlegung grüner Infrastruktur betrachtet. Dabei wird einerseits auf das Konzept der Ökosystemleistungen (ecosystem services) Bezug genommen, das den entsprechenden Programmen der Europäischen Union unterlegt ist, andererseits auf ökomarxistische Ansätze aus der englischsprachigen Debatte.
