Zusammenfassung
Durch die weltweite, nationale und kulturelle Grenzen überschreitende Verbreitung der neuen Medien und durch die zunehmende Vernetzung wird es immer wichtiger, Genderfragen bezogen auf Populärkultur in einer transkulturellen Perspektive zu erforschen. Seit den 1990er Jahren boomt die japanische Populärkultur nicht nur in Ostasien, sondern auch in weiten Teilen der übrigen Welt und hat großen Einfluss besonders auf junge Menschen.
