Zusammenfassung
Marken begegnen uns überall im Alltag: bei Starbucks treffen wir eine Arbeitskollegin in einem Mantel von H&M, auf dem Weg zur Arbeit überholt uns eine Joggerin im Adidas-Shirt, ein BMW nimmt uns die Vorfahrt, eine Freundin empfiehlt uns auf Facebook den Amazon Sale, im Büro riecht es nach Chanel No. 5, die Geschäftsführerin trägt Burberry, tippt im Meeting auf ihrem iPhone und trinkt Coke Zero. Es sind diese vielfältigen lebensweltlichen Erfahrungen mit Marken und die alltäglichen Beobachtungen in unserer sozialen Umwelt, die unser Vorstellungsbild von Marken und Menschen sowie unser Selbstkonzept mit prägen: “Consumers acquire much of their knowledge about products, product users, and their own preferences from the world around them, especially the social context.“ (Puntoni/ Tavassoli 2005, S. 280) Marken sind eine soziale Tatsache, und dies nicht bloß in wirtschaftlichen Belangen (vgl. Hellmann 2013, S. 19).
