Conceptualising Trust

  • Katja Beitat

The aim of this chapter is to discuss the different ways trust, specifically in interpersonal relationships, has been conceptualised in the literature to derive my own understanding for the purpose of this book. I will critically discuss general approaches to interpersonal trust as well as those specifically relating to health care, adopting some elements and rejecting others while developing my own, integrated approach to interpersonal trust.
