Zusammenfassung
Ein immer stärker werdender Wettbewerb, getrieben von stetigem Margendruck, hybride Konsumenten und die Gewissheit, dass jedes unternehmerische Fehlverhalten unmittelbar medial ausgeschlachtet wird, sind für die meisten Unternehmen nichts Neues. Insbesondere die umkämpften Märkte führen dazu, dass der strategische Fokus von Unternehmen primär finanzieller Natur ist und der Einsatz für eine Nachhaltige Entwicklung eher extrinsisch als intrinsisch motiviert ist. Sicher ist dieses Verhalten nachvollziehbarerweise auch darauf zurückzuführen, dass sich die Forschung bis heute darüber uneinig ist, ob sich CSR-Aktivitäten überhaupt auszahlen und einen positiven Effekt auf die finanzielle Performance eines Unternehmens haben.
