Abstract

Climate change and finite natural resources are growing concerns that bear both global and local challenges to governments and societies. E-mobility is a considerable solution in order to reduce oil dependency and greenhouse gas emissions. The establishment of cost-sharing mobility concepts and efficient charging infrastructure is therefore essential for the customer’s acceptance and diffusion of e-mobility. Key players in the transition to future’s mobility are primary leading automotive companies who have the capabilities to capitalize on new business opportunities. Due to high upfront expenditures from supply and demand side, some mobility providers have emerged in order to overcome these adaption barriers by introducing flexible mobility solutions, mostly in terms of carsharing (e.g. car2go, Zipcar).
