Zusammenfassung
Als radikale Produktinnovationen (vgl. [19], S. 12) müssten die ersten neu entwickelten Elektroautos Monopolgewinne aufgrund eines zeitlichen Vorsprungs am Markt gewinnen können [7], [42], [43]. Diese Annahme begründeten bereits Schumpeter 1912, Miles und Snow (1978) mit dem Unternehmenstyp des „prospector“. Heute steht sie im Zentrum des Kompetenzansatzes. Dies trifft für Elektroautos nicht zu, weil sich die tiefgreifenden technologischen Veränderungen zu neuen Antriebstechnologien nur langsam vollziehen und selbst Technologieführer die Gewinnschwelle („break even“-Punkt) erst zwischen 2019 und 2022 erreichen werden. Rein finanziell betrachtet ist deshalb derzeit nur eine Folgerstrategie sinnvoll (vgl. [43], Schritt 4).
