Die lineare Algebra beschäftigt sich vor allem mit funktionalen Beziehungen, bei denen die gesuchte Variable, zum Beispiel x, ohne Potenzen oder andere kompliziertere Operationen berücksichtigt wird. Diese Beziehungen werden auch lineare Beziehungen genannt.
