Abstract
During the preparation phase of the ARGONTUBE run taking place in April 2013, gas leaks were discovered at the bonnet CF flanges of the outlet valves of the two hydro- and oxisorber purifier cartridges (see Fig. 3.1) that are installed in the ARGONTUBE recirculation system. To refurbish the valves, they had to be removed from the purifiers. For this operation, a strong and continuous argon gas flux was maintained through the cartridges to avoid the contamination and saturation of the filters by the surrounding air.
