Abstract
Nanostructured Fe2O3 electrodes were gradually built up starting with the preparation of Al2O3 membranes as templates. Upon adequate cooling (T = 0 °C), the two-step anodic oxidation at +195 V in 1% H3PO4 yielded Al2O3 layers involving hexagonal arrays of pores, whereby the length was set by the duration of the second anodization. In this case, 3, 4, 6 and 8 hours led to pore lengths varying between 7 and 23 μm. The exact data are listed in Table 1.
