Zusammenfassung
Die Definition des Begriffs der Innovation ist in dieser Arbeit an die Marketing- Literatur angelehnt. Dabei lassen sich grundsätzlich Produkt- bzw. Dienstleistungsinnovationen und Prozessinnovationen unterscheiden. Für Homburg/Krohmer (2009, S. 542) ist jedes Produkt, welches der Kunde als neu wahrnimmt, eine Produktinnovation. Analog liegt folglich eine Dienstleistungsinnovation vor, wenn eine Dienstleistung vom Kunden als neuartig empfunden wird. Im Rahmen einer Prozessinnovation kann sich die Neuartigkeit auch nur auf die Anbieterseite, z. B.
