Abstract

During the 16th legislative term, the five party groups in the German Bundestag have published more than 25,000 press releases. On average, this makes about 6,340 press releases per year or 528 press releases per month or 17 per day (including Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays). Figure 2 shows the ‘static’ distribution of press releases across the five parties aggregated over the entire period. The most ‘active’ party in terms of issuing press releases is the Left Party ‘Die Linke’.
