Zusammenfassung

Brian Uzzi hat in verschiedenen Veröffentlichungen die theoretisch konsistenteste und methodisch anspruchsvollste Weiterentwicklung des Embeddedness-Ansatzes seines Doktorvaters Mark Granovetter vorgelegt. Die Arbeiten zeichnen sich auch durch eine extreme interne Kohärenz aus: Uzzi versucht darin Embeddedness – hier übersetzt mit Einbettung oder Einhegung – als einen spezifischen Typus von Beziehungen zwischen wirtschaftlichen Akteuren zu konkretisieren, differenziert verschiedene Dimensionen solcherart Beziehungen und erforscht ihre positiven wie negativen Auswirkungen auf Firmenleistungen.
