Zusammenfassung

In Regional Advantage geht AnnaLee Saxenian der Frage nach, warum sich die regionalen Ökonomien vom Silicon Valley (Kalifornien) und der Route 128 (Massachusetts) wirtschaftlich unterschiedlich entwickelt haben. Diese abweichenden Entwicklungspfade führt Saxenian auf die unterschiedlichen industriellen Systeme der beiden Regionen zurück. Die Unterschiede können anhand dreier Dimensionen festgemacht werden: regionale Institutionen und Kultur, die industrielle Struktur sowie die interne Organisation der Unternehmen.
