Zusammenfassung
Ist moderne Vergesellschaftung ohne Organisationen nicht zu denken, so gilt doch auch umgekehrt: Organisationen sind ohne Gesellschaft weder zu verstehen noch zu erklären. Was Organisation heißt, hat sich seit dem Aufkommen der Moderne jedoch grundlegend verändert: Prägten Bürokratien die Entwicklung der Moderne und verdanken diese ihre Verbreitung der Modernisierung von Welt, so charakterisieren heute reflexive Organisationen eine sich „radikalisierende Moderne“. Damit einher geht eine Vielzahl tiefgreifender Veränderungen, die von der verwandelten Institutionalisierung von Akteuren über die organisationale ‚Inbeziehungsetzung’ von Gesellschaftsbereichen bis hin zu Formen von Vergesellschaftung jenseits des Nationalstaats reichen und die Soziologie vor großen Herausforderungen stellt.
