Zusammenfassung
Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt die Auswirkungen des Drittmittelwettbewerbs auf die Handlungsebene der Forschung. Eine der wichtigsten Quellen für diese Thematik ist das 2012 veröffentlichte Buch von Paula Stephan: „How Economics Shapes Science“ (Stephan 2012). Es beginnt im Klappentext mit den Worten: „The beauty of science may be pure and eternal, but the practice of science costs money.“ Diese – zunächst trivial erscheinende – Feststellung ist für die vorliegende Untersuchung von zentraler Bedeutung.
