Abstract

Generic models for DFG and FSC based wind turbines have been proposed by WECC [4]. Simulation results of the DFG were compared to simulations with a more detailed model in [21]. Those models were so far mainly used in the USA, and the models were able to represent wind turbines with respect to common US grid code requirements. European grid code requirements often have specific requirements on reactive power delivery during and following grid faults [23], [51], [52]. New regulations in Germany, [53], [54] and Spain [55] require the validation of wind turbine simulation models with measurements of voltage dips. But this is beyond the scope of the existing generic models.
