Zusammenfassung
Lange nachdem die Menschengruppen Feuer domestiziert hatten, fingen sie an, ihre Pflege und Kontrolle auf ausgewählte Tiere und Pflanzen auszudehnen. Damit begann die zweite große von Menschen bewirkte ökologische Umwandlung. Sie hätte ohne die fest etablierte Feuerkontrolle nicht stattfinden können. Sie hat die weitere Entwicklung der Rolle, die das Feuer in der menschlichen Gesellschaft spielen sollte, entscheidend beeinflußt.
