Zusammenfassung
Im Jahr 1998, zehn Jahre nach dem ersten ifo-Bericht zur volkswirtschaftlichen Bedeutung von Kunst und Kultur in Deutschland (Hummel & Bedeutung von Kunst und Kultur in Deutschland (Hummel & Berger, 1988) wurde in Karlsruhe auf Anraten von Hans Georg Gemünden die wissenschaftliche Untersuchung von Unternehmertum im Kulturbereich vorangetrieben, indem eine Verbindung von Entrepreneurshipforschung und Kulturbetriebsforschung hergestellt werden sollte. Damals war dies noch ein sehr exotisches Orchideenthema, was keine Erfolgsaussichten bei der Einwerbung von Forschungsgeldern versprach. Mittlerweile ist dieses Thema mehr als top aktuell.
