Abstract

The first four chapters have compiled the theoretical underpinning and formalized a framework for distributed organizing rooted in complexity science and sensemaking. In the light of this first theoretical clarification of the field, the core problems touched in the preceding chapters are summarized. The outcome of this chapter is a clear understanding of the concept and reach of distributed organizing. This serves as the basis for assessing suitable support technology in part III.
