Abstract

The present chapter has two specific aims. First, it seeks to demonstrate that prejudice is a collective phenomenon, not only in the sense that it is directed towards others but also as an attitude that is shared by close friends. The second aim of this chapter is to show that in Hungary, the attitude towards the Roma is a relevant social factor structuring the peer relationships of majority (nonminority) teenagers.
