Image Inpainting



In this chapter, the implementation of the static image inpainting component as derived in Subsection 3.1 will be presented in detail. In Subsection 4.1, the pixel mapping function will be introduced. A novel cost measure is defined in 4.2 that produces a real-time inpainting result comparable to state-of-the-art approaches. In Subsections 4.3 and 4.4, the entire image inpainting pipeline is presented; composed of refinement, propagation and an optional initialization steps. Subsequently, in Subsection 4.6, extensions for the basic inpainting approach are presented which improve the visual result and quality according to individual constraints. The presented static inpainting approach will be analyzed in detail in 4.7.
