Für eine erfolgreiche Erlössteuerung (Revenue Management, RM) müssen Methoden der Datenanalyse, der Prognose und der Optimierung gezielt und kompetent eingesetzt werden. Die Verbindung verschiedener Teilgebiete und die zunehmende Beliebtheit in verschiedenen Industrien machen dieses Gebiet zu einem idealen Beispiel für angewandtes und zukunftsorientiertes Operations Research im Sinne der Entscheidungsunterstützung.
