I wish to say that it does not follow that because we have on the one side experience which is individual, …, and have on the other a common world, that we have two separate levels of existence or reality. … A great deal that appears simply as the experience of an individual, as his own sensation or perception, becomes public later. Every discovery as such begins with experiences which have to be stated in terms of the biography of the discoverer.
