Abstract
Volvo Car Corporation has introduced a completely new engine family and architecture called Volvo Engine Architecture – VEA – in autumn 2013. The main characteristics of this new engine family are high specific performance, a modular light weight base engine and low fuel consumption. Moreover, the high commonality and compactness create new design freedom for a vehicle platform with improved handling, attractive front design and continued best in class safety. The engine family comprises a total of eight engines.
