Menschenrechte und Demokratie im arabischen politischen Diskurs

Zusammenfassung

Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist es, den sozialen Kontext der kulturalistischen Aneignung der Ideen der Demokratie und der Menschenrechte im arabischen politischen Diskurs darzustellen. Dabei wird davon ausgegangen, dass einerseits die These der Inkompatibilität von Islam einerseits und Demokratie und Menschenrechten andererseits unhaltbar ist und andererseits die Behauptung zu kurz greift, dass es legitimer Weise kulturspezifische Ausprägungen dieser Ideen gibt (Abschnitt 1). Stattdessen wird die Annahme vertreten, dass bestimmte diskursive Kontexte die kulturspezifische Aneignung und Legitimation von Ideen erforderlich machen, wenn sie in emanzipatorischer Absicht Verwendung finden können sollen (Abschnitt 2).
