Zur Frage der Emanzipation vom Westen im politischen Denken Lateinamerikas

Zusammenfassung

Eine Auseinandersetzung mit der Frage, wie Lateinamerika sich im Bereich des politischen Denkens gegen die Dominanz des Westens verteidigt, muss zunächst etwas Offensichtliches zur Kenntnis nehmen: Ob Lateinamerika nicht selbst zum Westen gehört, ist keineswegs geklärt, sondern wird auch in Lateinamerika immer wieder neu verhandelt. Nicht nur geographisch liegt der Kontinent in der westlichen Hemisphäre, auch eine jahrhundertelange Einwanderung aus Europa, sowie die Übernahme europäischer Sprachen und des Christentums sorgen für eine große Schnittmenge.
