Konfliktlinien auf dem Weg zu einem sozialen Europa

Abstract

Die zunehmend wichtiger werdenden Europarteien lassen sich in einer Konfliktlinienkonstellation verorten, die durch den klassischen Links-Rechts-Gegensatz geprägt, gleichzeitig aber von einer differenzierten integrationspolitischen Konfliktlinie überlagert wird. Die sozialpolitische Orientierung der EU lässt sich durch die Bündniskonstellationen entlang dieser Konfliktlinien erklären. Doch weiterhin bestimmen nationale Parteiführer und nicht die EP-Abgeordneten die Richtung der Europapolitik. Wichtiger als Reformen zugunsten des Europaparlaments erscheint daher eine größere Transparenz für die Parteipolitik in der EU, um dadurch der europäischen Öffentlichkeit eine Zuschreibung von politischer Verantwortung zu ermöglichen.
