Zusammenfassung

Religion nimmt eine zunehmend bedeutsame Rolle in den internationalen Beziehungen ein. In der Forschung liegt der Schwerpunkt jedoch noch immer auf dem angenommenen Zusammenhang von Religion und Gewalt in Kriegen und Bürgerkriegen. Dabei wird häufig übersehen, dass religiöse Akteure vermehrt nicht nur als Objekte internationaler Steuerung und Regulierung auftreten, sondern auch als Partner und Beiträger bei der Bearbeitung globaler Probleme. Der Beitrag zeigt anhand der Politikfelder Entwicklung/Humanitäre Nothilfe und Menschenrechte auf, wie transnationalisierte religiöse Gemeinschaften und Organisationen die normativen und institutionellen Gelegenheitsstrukturen von Global Governance nutzen, um ihre religiös begründeten Überzeugungen in anwaltschaftliche Kampagnen und praktische Arbeit umzusetzen.
